Isn't it amazing David that mindfulness and meditation practices (at least in American culture) emerged largely from the counter-cuture of the 1950s and 60s. Today meditation, yoga and many holistic practices are becoming more common, even as many Amercans are concerned with the rise of Christonationlism. I come from Virginia Beach where the mystic/intutive Edgar Cayce performed his trance readings in the early- to mid-20th century. He spoke of the coming prominence of these practices and attitudes in the United States. Reading your work reminds me how prescient Cayce actually was.
