Interesting, lots to ponder. Gleaning frm your text it appears as though "belief in God" is declining due to a greater rejection of religion... even though the two are not synonymous, certanly not among the growing "Spiritual But Not Religious" that make up the largest part of the 'Nones.' I believe the conversations regardng religion and belief will begin shifting away from the "G" word and will rather address the notion of consciousness, its non-locality (i.e.,it is not created by or relegated to the brain) and its surviving the death of the body. Studies at Duke's Rhine Institute, the University of Virginia's Department of Perceptual Studies, Cornell, Univ. of Arizona and others are making greater inroads in this field.
